Happy New Year to you..Its going to be simply great!
I hope you have had a wonderful festive season, have been able to catch up with yourself and those you love and are excited for the incredible New Year ahead.
I was talking, just before Christmas, with a beautiful friend of mine about how we often miss the magic of the moments, with family and friends, as we are rushing around trying to get it all done, trying to stay in control and get everything right..
"Life is really simple but we insist in making it complicated" - Confucious
So I made a conscious effort to let go, be in the moment and simplify... And I had the best Christmas in years. It was really warm and nourishing and I was able to catch up with everyone special to me, and feel the love that sometimes I miss in the stress and chaos of it all.
Being present in a series of moments was more than the sum of the whole.
Usually, in my excitment, I'm charging to the New Year in with big, bold statements and have lists of the things I want to accomplish, which is all great and, absolutely I still have big dreams, but sometimes this declaration of "I will do, I will be" makes me feel that I'm not okay as I am, and I need to accomplish to be worthy.
This means we can miss the magic of our life today, as it is how we are...Which is pretty awesome already, for the most part.
This is what I love about my work with Pilates and Kundalini Yoga and meditation, and what it teaches me every single day. It's all a journey back to the present and thats where the miracles are. All around us right now and we are enough.
There is a difference between living a conscious life being the best version of yourself and "proving your worth".. I'm done with the latter.
So simplifying doesnt mean copping out or giving up. It's actually really tricky to decipher what is necessary and whats not sometimes. Where you are hiding behind stuff and when you making things complicated for yourself.
Sometimes it feels easier to be busy that it is to just be.
"Simple can be harder than complex:You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there you can move mountains" - Steve Jobs
So still incredibly excited and motivated for the New Year and all it brings, still with big dreams in my heart and ideas and techniques to share with you this year for me is all about
Being of Service
Without rushing, pushing, expectation, self flagelation let's ease ourselves into the New Year, simplifying and letting things evolve naturally, enjoying the now.
Creating heartfelt, sustainable practices to reach our goals and live our dreams, whatever they maybe. Let's see the magic in the moments and the miracles all around us. With heaps and heaps of gratitute.
